We DO NOT Accept following Wastewater:
Lakeland Processing Company ("LPC") can NOT accept the following hazardous waste streams:
Regulatory Restrictions on Wastewater Acceptance
Must not be considered metals waste, as categorized by the EPA's Centralized Waste Treatment guidelines.
Examples of metals waste include water from:
- Plating
- Etching
- Surface preparation
- Alkaline or acid cleaning
- Metal finishing
- Anodizing operations
Water accepted by Lakeland cannot exceed these metal limits:
- Cadmium 0.2 mg/l
- Chromium 8.9 mg/l
- Copper 4.9 mg/l
- Nickel 37.5 mg/l
Must not cause nuisance odors
Lakeland cannot receive wastes with intense objectionable odors.
However our staff may be able to recommend an odor pretreatment that would permit us to accept such wastes.
22 CCR §66261.24.
Hazardous (Toxic) Wastes:
A waste is hazardous if representative samples of the waste contain any of the following:

The waste is hazardous if it contains any of the following substances at a single or combined concentration equal to or exceeding 0.001 percent by weight:
- 2-Acetylaminofluorene (2-AAF)
- Acrylonitrile
- 4-Aminodiphenyl
- Benzidine and its salts
- bis (Chloromethyl) ether (BCME)
- Methyl chloromethyl ether
- 1,2-Dibromo-3-chloropropane (DBCP)
- 3,3'-Dichlorobenzidine and its salts (DCB)
- 4-Dimethylaminoazobenzene (DAB)
- Ethyleneimine (EL)
- alpha-Naphthylamine (1-NA)
- beta-Naphthylamine (2-NA)
- 4-Nitrobiphenyl (4-NBP)
- N-Nitrosodimethylamine (DMN)
- beta-Propiolactone (BPL)
- Vinyl chloride (VCM)
The waste is hazardous if it has been shown through experience or testing to pose a hazard to human health or environment because of its carcinogenicity, acute toxicity, chronic toxicity, bioaccumulative properties or persistence in the environment.
The waste is hazardous if it has an acute aquatic 96-hour LC50 less than 500 milligrams per liter (fails the aquatic toxicity test).
LPC can accept a wide variety of other non-hazardous liquids that must be properly evaluated prior to acceptance into the processing facility.
Please contact a LPC Marketing Representative today to profile your non-hazardous waste at 562.944.6111.
